Riverton Hospital Health Fair

We have been seeing a ton of marketing about the Riverton Hospital Community Health fair. So we decided it would be fun to go over with the kids and see what is going on. We figured we would go for maybe a half an hour and head home, well two and a half hours laters we finally left. There was so much free stuff there for the kids to do. They had bounce houses for the kids and then each area of the hospital had either an activity or a booth with tons of free stuff. The emergency department had a teddy bear clinic where the kids got a free bear and then learned about how the treat broken bones and stitches, the primary childrens surgical center let the kids learn about anesthesia and actual got to intibate a doll (put a breathing tube in them) and then they got to use the surgical equipment to surgically remove candy from a dummy, they had info on germs and carseat safety and then outside they had all the emergency response vehicles that the kids could tour. And best of all Abby has a picture that she painted that is hung in the hospital and she found where they had hung it. They had so much fun and it was a great day to hang out together as a family.

Nana's Birthday

My Mom's birthday was last weekend and we had decided we needed to celebrate it to remember her. The younger kids have very little memories of their Nana and the older kids will start to forget if we don't help them remember. Jori and I along with sister Shanae took most of the grandkids to the graveyard for the afternoon (Sophia couldn't be there since they live in Colorado.) The headstone was starting to look dirty and unkept so we scrubbed the stone, polished it, and edged the grass around it and then we decorated the grave. The kids had fun using the scrub brushes and then running around the grass at the graveyard. We added the American Flags for our Brother James who couldn't be there since he is serving our country in Afghanastan. Anyway we had a really nice afternoon and finished it with a lunch at Mcdonalds for the kids - a place Nana had gone to many times just to be with us and the grandkids - one time she even climbed to the top of the play place to save a stranded grandchild. I was a nice way to remember my Mom and keep her as part of our lives. I miss you a lot Mom!

Happy Birthday Aiden and Ella!

I can't believe it has been six years since the twins joined our family. My how the time flies! It has been an incredibly awesome six years at that. They sure had a hard start to their lives, arriving 6 weeks premature and spending the first 4 weeks of their life in a NICU unit on oxygen and sitting in heating isolets with IV's and monitors. But here we are with two incredibly healthy and happy six year olds that are amazing their Mom and Dad every day with how smart, sweet, and amazing they are.

To celebrate their birthday we had a small friend party with a cowboy - cowgirl theme. We played a few games, crafts and cake and ice cream. Then for their birthday dinner it was Chuck-E-Cheese, yumm =). And finally a family get together on Saturday to finish off the weeks festivities.

I sure love my babies and am grateful every day that my life has been blessed with them. Ella has an incredible sense of humor and a charisma that makes everyone love her. And Aiden is the sweetest and kindest child and always willing to take care of his sisters. What a lucky mom I am.

Happy Birthday babies!

Dr. Seuss Day At School

Anyone that is close to our family knows that my kids LOVE Dr. Seuss! And Dr. Seuss's birthday is always a fun week at our house. The school had green eggs and ham for lunch which Abby thought was great and then the kids were able to dress up as Dr. Seuss characters on Friday. Ella and Abby wanted to be Cindy Lou Who and Aiden wanted to be The Cat In The Hat. It took us and extra 30 minutes to get ready for school - the hair alone was a major production, but they had a great time. We also read every Dr. Seuss book we own, which is about 20! My kid definetly hit their reading time. I love finding fun stuff to do with the kids that can be educational too!

Baby Maya

Well it has been forever since I have updated our blog and a lot has happened since then. Our little girl Maya arrived on January 28th 2011 @ 4:30 pm. We had expected her to arrive very early but she held out and was only 2 weeks early! She was 6 lbs. 6 oz. and 19 inches long. A beautiful, healthy and amazing little girl. The kids just love her to death and we have to try and control the mauling of her. She isn't a great sleeper and has made nights very hard for mom and dad but we love her all the same!

One More Makes 4!

So I think most people know by now but for those of you that don't - we are expecting Johnson baby #4 on February 14th 2011. We are getting pretty excited now that the initial shock has finally worn off. And all three of the kids are through the roof excited. Ella just keeps asking who she can tell next. They all want the baby to sleep in their room but we will have to work all of that out later. I am 14 weeks pregnant and so far things are going great. I have already had 2 ultrasound showing a happy and healthy little bean growing with a strong heartbeat of 165! So far so good. We will be having our 20 week ultrasound in late September and yes we will be finding out the sex! I am not a patience person an I want to know! But so does Kelly!

Abby Got Baptized!

I can't believe out little girl is 8 years old! Last Saturday my beautiful baby chose to get baptized and join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We are so proud of her for her descision and for the beautiful, sweet young lady she is growing into. She has been so excited for this and has been planning it for months. She of course got to go shopping and buy her baptism dress and then she was planning how she wanted her hair and which friends she wanted to invite. It was a rather stressful day for Mom and Dad but I think it all went well and turned out great. Thank you so much to all of our family and friends that came to support her. She is truly blessed to be surrounded by such great people!
