Crazy Christmas!!

I love Christmas! I know it is a ton of stress, a lot of money and it takes a lot of time but it is truly my favorite time of the year. We had a wonderful Christmas and are just so blessed. The Sunday before Christmas we had Kelly's family over for dinner and opened presents. It is always great to get everyone together. Then on Christmas eve my family all got together and attempted to get a family picture taken of all of us it was a little crazy but it turned out okay. That night the Tippets family always has a big family dinner which is fun, all of the great-grandkids put on a nativity which is a wonderful tradition and then Santa comes and gives the kids a gift. It was so much fun! On Christmas day we made a big breakfast at our house and then visited some family. My Sisters got Wii games and Guitar hero so we had a blast playing video games together. And the day after Christmas we had round two. All of my siblings got together at my dad's house to do a gift exchange and then had a huge sleepover. 16 people in all! It was a bit crowded but so worth it. Overall it was a crazy, busy, chaotic, and fabulous Christmas season.

Bop It Extreme

I don't know if you know what a Bop It is, but if you don't your lucky. It's a timed game where you have to bop it, twist it, pull it or whatever it says as fast as you can before it times out. We got this stupid toy when we first got married almost 9 years ago and use to play it all the time, we actually had to put tape over the speaker because we were worried it would wake the people in the apartment below us when we were playing at 2 in the morning. Well I cleaned out the hall closet yesterday and found it (this closet was were old things went to get lost and die!). Well Kelly and I started playing it and wasted almost the entire night trying to beat each others score. Needless to say I won!!!! But I think we are both losers considering we are now addicted to a stupid toy! Although I have to say it is nice that we are both so easily entertained =)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We had a really good time. On Wednesday we had Colby and Bradley over to make Muddy Buddy Snacks, we are always glad to get to spent time with those cute boys. We spent early on Thanksgiving day at home setting up our Christmas Tree and decorations and then went to North Salt Lake to have a Thanksgiving dinner with the Tippets side of the family. Friday the Tippets Girls (Me, my sisters Jori, Shanae, and Misty and my Sister-in-law Bethany) all braved the crowds for black Friday shopping. It was crazy but we got some really good deals. And Saturday we went to Chuck-E-Cheese with the Johnson side of the family which is always a favorite for the kids. Overall it was a great holiday weekend and a good time to remember all the things we are grateful for. Who could ask for a better family and such great friends!

The Planetarium

On Saturday we took the kids down to the gateway with Kelly's twin sister Becky, her husband Marcus and their cute little girl Katana. Gammy (Kelly's Mom) went with us as well. It was great to spend some time with the family. It was so much fun, we went to the 3-D movie Fly me to the Moon. It was really cute to see the little kids reaching out and trying to touch the images and they came towards them. Then the kids looked at all the displays and fun activities you can do in there. Their favorite part was walking on the moon! I love days like that where you have nothing else to think about but having fun with the kids.

Our Not Too Scary Halloween!!!

So Halloween has come and gone and we had a great time. Halloween is one of our favorite holidays, not because we like the scary part but because we love the costumes. We have had some fun doing a family movie theme costume for the past couple years. Last year we did the Wizard of Oz and this year we did Peter Pan. Aiden was our handsome little Peter Pan and Ella our precious little TinkerBell, while Abby was a beautiful Silvermist (she is Tinker Bells blue fairy friend from the new Tinker Bell movie), Dad was the big mean Captain Hook, and Mom was Wendy Darling. All the kids got a chance to wear their costumes for a school program on the 30th and they sang so cute. We also got to go to the pumpkin patch and get some pumpkins for carving and painting. But of course the best part was trick-or-treating, Kelly has so much fun taking the kids around you'd think he was still a kid.

It Finally Fell Out!!!!!

Okay so Abby is 6 and 1/2 and has not lost any teeth, until now. Back in August her front bottom tooth started to get a little loose, it has been ten weeks and has not fallen out. This poor little tooth has been hanging by a thread for weeks now and has been the entire focus of Abby's life. Well today at school Abby was at her art table and the tooth just fell out in her mouth, she spit it out and raised her hand and said "Miss White my tooth just fell out". Being in first grade all of kids came running over to see. When I picked Abby up from school today half the class came running over to me to tell me all about it. We are so excited that the tooth drama is finally over and the tooth fairy can make her very first visit to the Johnson house.

Family Trip!

So we decided to take a little family road trip before Abby went back on track. We drove down to Vegas for one night to visit a friend and then went into the St. George area to visit Kelly's Dad.
It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun. We visited FAO Schwartz, the M&M store and the Coke factory in Vegas it was a ton of fun. We also drove around to find a Peter Piper Pizza, Kelly's very favorite restaurant in the whole world. Then Grandpa and Grandma took all of us to the little reservoir by their house and took us for boat rides and let us play in the sand. It was a great little trip that was really needed. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Just as a reminder that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Anyone that knows me knows this is a topic that hits close to home. With two aunts and a grandmother that have been diagnosed with the disease and having just lost my mother to breast cancer it is a topic that is frequently on my mind. This month is a great time to just do a little research and see what you can do to protect yourself and your family. The link to the National Breast Cancer Awareness campaign and the Susan G. Komen website are listed below. Take a second and see how you can get involved.

Boys Will be Boys? (I think)

Okay so a lot has been going on this week. On Monday Kelly and Scott decided they were going to go play and they spent the day 4-wheeling. So being the nice wife I stayed home with all the kids (my 3 and Scotts 2). Well when the spend the day with 5 kids things get chaotic and crazy. So we ended up with 2 of the boys pretending to be girls (They thought it was pretty funny). We had a pretty great day even with the extra cheerleader and ballerina.

Then on Tuesday night we went to Leatherby's Ice Cream to say good-bye to my brother James who is left this week for the Army basic training. And to all of our surprise James and his wife Bethany announced they are expecting their first baby - yeah! James will be gone for 9 weeks for basic training and then will go to Office Candidacy School which will be another 12 weeks. So we will miss him but we wish him the best of luck!

Ella, the scissors and the hair!

Okay so I guess it is a right of passage for anyone with young children but this is my first child hair cutting adventure. So Ella was playing with her friend Sophie yesterday when they decided it would be a good idea to play hair stylist, Sophie being the stylist and Ella being the client. Needless to say Ella is now missing a good chunk of beautiful little girl hair. The things kids will do!

Labor Day 2008

So the Tippets side of the family decided to rent a house in Midway over the Labor Day Holiday and spend some time together.
James is leaving for bootcamp on September 23rd and we thought it would be a great family outing before he's gone for a very long time. We were able to spend some time at Swiss Days and go to the Swiss Days Parade. We also we over to the sheep herding competition and watched the sheep dogs compete, they also had some dogs that were trained at some pretty great tricks. On Saturday we went into Park City and did the Alpine Slide and Abby did the Jump thingy (I can't remember what it's called). The kids loved it and we really had a great time together.

Good Bye Nana

Some of you already know that my Mom Louise Lundell passed away last Wednesday September 3rd. She has been fighting a long battle with Alzheimer's and Breast Cancer. Last August she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer that had metastasized to her bones and she was told it was terminal. She fought a good fight but her body final lost and she took her last breaths surrounded by her three children. Jori, James, and I are so grateful for the love and support that has been given to our family through this difficult time and hope that our mother will live on in the memories of her family and friends. We will miss our Nana!

New Bloggers!

Okay so I am going to try and get into this blogging thing since everyone else in the world is doing it. I hope I can get organized enough to do this on a weekly basis (but probably more realistically a monthly basis. ) But maybe it will actually force me to download my pictures from my camera! We have so many great family and friends that we would like to try an keep them updated on what is going on in our life. Happy Blogging!
