Icky Sicky Kids
What a crazy month we have had here. A few weeks ago Ella was struggling with a cold. Then two weeks ago she climbed on Kelly's lap and just wasn't feeling good. We took her temperature and she was at 104 and was having trouble breathing. I rushed her to the insta care where they told me they thought she had pnemonia but their x-ray machine was down so I needed to take her to a different insta care. So I loaded her in the car and drove through the horrible snow and icy roads to get her to another insta care. On my way there I called Kelly to tell him what was going on and I can hear Abby screaming in the background and Kelly informs me that Abby was playing around and pretending to do karate and fell on her wrist and it may be broken. Well to make a long story short Ella did have pneumonia and RSV and something called Metapneumo virus, we made 9 trips to the doctors that week to check oxygen levels and breathing and we spent one night at Primary Childrens hospital for observation, but now she is doing great and back to her normal happy little self. and Abby did break her wrist which is now cast in a beautiful light blue cast covered in the names of her friends. I am planning to post some pictures of her cute little arm as soon as I can. All I can say is thankgoodness for modern medicine!

Silly School Days!
It has been a really fun couple of months for school. The twins had a pirate day at preschool where they got to come to school dressed up as pirates! And then this week it was Dr. Seuss' Birthday. We are huge fans of Dr. Seuss and had a lot of fun celebrating. All three kids got to have green eggs and ham at school! The kids were invited to dress up as a character from a Dr. Seuss book for his birthday and Abby and her friend Colby planned it all out. They wanted to be thing 1 and thing 2 from The Cat in The Hat. The problem is they have blue spikey hair, so we had to put our thinking caps on and come up with some way to make it work. To make a long story short I learned to knit hats out of blue fuzzy yarn! Then the twins decided they wanted to do the same thing for preschool so we did!

Muddy Buddies
We decided to have some friends over today to have treats and play. We made edible playdough and then because the weather was so warm the kids wanted to go outside and play. Well the moms decided to stay inside and talk while the kids played and we would just check on them every few minutes. Lets just say that a lot of mess can be made in very little time. All 5 kids decided that the wet dirt in the backyard was too tempting and that they just couldn't pass up a great opportunity to make a mess. While it is frustrating to have to wash all the shoes, clothes, coats and kids after such a mess I do have to say that it was still kinda cute and it is times like this that will stick in our memories and our hearts.

The Treehouse Museum
A couple of weeks ago my sister Jori and I took all the kids to the Treehouse Childrens Museum in Ogden. It was a fabulously fun day! The treehouse is this great place will all kinds of imaginary play area with a different theme like the music room, the oval office, the around the world village, and a baby hospital. It was so much fun to watch the kids use their imaginations and play together. I posted some of the fun pictures we took with all six of the kiddos. I would have posted all this sooner but here at the Johnson home we have been dealing with the great computer crash of 2009, translation my computer won't work and my whole life is on it. So I have been stopped in my tracks on doing the things I normally do. We actually went out and bought a new computer this week so hopefully once we get everything transfered over we will be as good as new. Hope everyone is doing well!

My New Old Dining Room Table
Here are my before and after pictures of my dining room. My poor poor dining room table has finally gone to the great big table heaven. This poor table has been drawn on, spilled on, painted on, and cut on and it looked like crap. It was 9 years old and showed every day of use, we couldn't even fit all of us at the table for dinner. We even had two plastic folding chairs filling in where old chairs had broken. Well my parents decided to buy a new table, they have been looking for at least 2 years but haven't been able to decide on one, well they finally did and so I got their old one. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the most beautiful table ever! (okay not really but it is much better than what we had. So thanks Dad and Michele for our new - used table.

Family Night Out
One of the things that I liked to do when I was younger was ice skate. Well like every other Mom out there I haven't found the time to go in a very long time. Abby had seen my ice skates in the closet and had beg me for months to take her. So for family night last week we decides to go ice skating (despite Kelly and Aiden wanting to do something else more boyish). It was so much fun! They have these little walker like things that helped the kids skate all by themselves. It was a great adventure with only one little fall (Abby fell when she tried to show us she could do it without any help). While I may not be as good as I used to it was a great family outing that we hope to repeat in the future.

Crazy Christmas!!
I love Christmas! I know it is a ton of stress, a lot of money and it takes a lot of time but it is truly my favorite time of the year. We had a wonderful Christmas and are just so blessed. The Sunday before Christmas we had Kelly's family over for dinner and opened presents. It is always great to get everyone together. Then on Christmas eve my family all got together and attempted to get a family picture taken of all of us it was a little crazy but it turned out okay. That night the Tippets family always has a big family dinner which is fun, all of the great-grandkids put on a nativity which is a wonderful tradition and then Santa comes and gives the kids a gift. It was so much fun! On Christmas day we made a big breakfast at our house and then visited some family. My Sisters got Wii games and Guitar hero so we had a blast playing video games together. And the day after Christmas we had round two. All of my siblings got together at my dad's house to do a gift exchange and then had a huge sleepover. 16 people in all! It was a bit crowded but so worth it. Overall it was a crazy, busy, chaotic, and fabulous Christmas season.
